-
Buy your tickets! - As soon as event signup goes live, please buy the $0 tickets to anything on our schedule you want to join us for. All of our events are free, but we still need to collect the $0 tickets to our events, you will need to give the physical tickets to us in Room A115 at the time of each event.
At the Event
- Share the love! - You can share and interact with our social media posts during the show - this will help other Origins attendees looking for something fun to do to find us. Ask Kristin for a few copies of her Invitation Flyer so you have something to hand to that person in the elevator who you just told about Fluxx having a birthday party on Saturday night. Help us communicate to everyone that YES all of our events are free, but we still need to collect tickets for them. Please buy the $0 tickets to our events from Origins and turn them into us in Room A115 at the time of the event.
-
Teach the games! - You can teach new fans games that you know but they don’t when you get into a game with them. This is the #1 thing that anyone can do to help us - welcome new players into the room and invite them to join into a game with you that you are happy to teach.
-
The more, the merrier! - Come by our room to play games and join in events. We hope you will come by early and come by often to hang out, play some games, and have all the fun.

We are so excited to see everyone who will be at Origins. It is going to be such great fun to spend time together and play games all weekend!
Here are the 15 Events we submitted - all are free - all run in A114
Wednesday 6 PM Looney Game-A-Thon Begins
In the Looney Game-A-Thon, you can play any Looney Labs game. At the end we will award a bunch of prize medallions, to the person who won the most games, and the person who just played the most games, in various categories (Fluxxes, Pyramid games, and non-Fluxx non-Pyramid games). Our new custom “Looney Labs Game Tracker” system will collect and crunch the numbers for us, with all participants recording each game they play all weekend long using a special code that they scan after each game. Starts Wed night and continues until Sun at 2. Prize Medallions will be awarded Sun at 3!
Wednesday 6 PM Looney Labs Silent Auction Begins (NOTE: This event might not happen if it is illegal to do this in Ohio)
We’ve dug up a big pile of cool old stuff: out-of-print versions of Fluxx, Looney Pyramids of rare colors, one-of-a-kind prototypes from the game development process, and so on. Most of these items will be sold, via Silent Auction (with a few items being given away via a Bucket Raffle at our 30th anniversary party on Saturday night).
Wednesday 8 PM First Edition Fluxx tournament
We’re starting the fun with a flashback to Origins 1997, when we ran tournaments all weekend for our brand new card game, Fluxx. We’ll be using original First Edition decks, so space is limited! Winner receives a prize medallion!
Thursday 11 AM PARSEly with Andy Looney (session 1)
Remember the text adventure computer games from the 1980s? PARSEly games are like that but with Andy Looney as the computer, describing the locations and "parsing" the commands. The group will even decide which "program" to run. Andy has written ten original games that use Jared Sorensen’s PARSEly system, all of which are unpublished and can only be played with Andy in person. If a shorter game is chosen, the group may get to play 1 or 2 other short games, while the longer games will take the entire session. Options include Trapped!, Ducks on a Plane, Red Alert, Back in 5 Minutes, and Muffins.
Thursday 3 PM Andy vs. Everybody (session 1)
Join the designer of Fluxx as he plays a bunch of his games at the same time. Laugh as Mr. Looney rushes from table to table, taking his turn in each of the ten games as fast as he can! Cheer with the crowd when Everybody wins! Everybody will be playing a version of Fluxx or other Looney-designed games that can be played in this venue. Andy Looney will be one of the players at each table, but he won’t have a chair — instead, there will be a small flag at his spot, which the group will raise whenever his turn comes around. When Andy sees the flag go up, he'll run over to take his turn.
Thursday 7 PM Starbase Armstrong Playtest
Starbase Armstrong is an unpublished LARP-style gaming experience for 12 to 20 players. Set at an interstellar transit hub, players become aliens from far-flung planets waiting for their spaceships to refuel. They will wager at the starbase's casino, barter and sell rare objects, wrangle over intergalactic politics, and attempt to unravel each other’s secret identities. Each player gets a “space passport” containing their cash, Objects, and secrets. When the spacefarers return to their ships, the GM team will collect up the Passports, and examine the contents to determine the overall winner.
Friday 11 AM Andy vs. Everybody (session 2)
Friday 1 PM Business Talk with the Business Czar
Curious about running a small game company? Kristin Looney has been doing it for 30 years and will be happy to answer your questions or just yammer about things she’s learned in her career as an entrepreneur.
Friday 3 PM PARSEly with Andy Looney (session 2)
Remember the text adventure computer games from the 1980s? PARSEly games are like that but with Andy Looney as the computer, describing the locations and "parsing" the commands. The group will even decide which "program" to run. Andy has written ten original games that use Jared Sorensen’s PARSEly system, all of which are unpublished and can only be played with Andy in person. If a shorter game is chosen, the group may get to play 1 or 2 other short games, while the longer games will take the entire session. Options include Trapped!, Ducks on a Plane, Red Alert, Back in 5 Minutes, and Muffins.
Friday 7 PM Seven Islands tournament
Join us for the first official tournament of Andy Looney’s new game Seven Islands, which goes on sale for the first time here at Origins. Be the first to get both of your tokens onto the beacon whose flag matches the ship currently at the dock to win! Winner receives a prize medallion!
Saturday 1 PM Q&A with the Looneys
The Looneys of Looney Labs (makers of Fluxx etc) have countless stories to share about their 30 years in the game industry (and their careers at NASA before that). What’s coming next from the company? Here’s your chance to ask Andy or Kristin anything you want!
Saturday 3 PM Andy vs. Everybody (session 3)
Saturday 7 PM Looney Labs 30th Anniversary Party
This year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the invention of Fluxx and the founding of Looney Labs and since it’s not a party unless there’s cake, THERE WILL BE CAKE! We will also be giving away a bunch of random artifacts and collectibles (including a few rarities like the out-of-print products in our Silent Auction). All ticket holders will have a chance to win — who gets what will be determined with a Bucket Raffle. Happy Birthday Fluxx!
Saturday 9 PM PARSEly with Andy Looney (session 3)
Remember the text adventure computer games from the 1980s? PARSEly games are like that but with Andy Looney as the computer, describing the locations and "parsing" the commands.
