Investing in Looney Labs
Updated April 2008

Looney Labs is a small friendly little game company, started back in 1997 by two former NASA engineers, Kristin and Andrew Looney. Kristin, the entrepreneur in the family, started the company with the goal of publishing and selling the games designed by her husband Andy. Over the following 10 years, the Looneys established a recognized and admired brand, with a catalog of award winning "evergreen" products, that are available for sale in thousands of game stores world wide. Looney Labs has sold several millions of dollars worth of games and has built up a dedicated following of fans.

In May of 2006, the Looney's added Robin Vinopal to their executive team (as the Chief Operations Officer of the company) and Robin and Kristin have been working hard on adding more traditional corporate structure to the business. Now with things like job descriptions, performance reviews, an employee handbook, and an updated business plan, the company is digging in to execute the product and marketing plans the management team has put together for 2008. The company is heading into its second decade with both vision and detailed plans for future growth.

Over the years, the Looneys funded their business by borrowing money as needed from various friends and family, who loaned them and their company money to help them build their dreams. Now in early 2008, Looney Labs has achieved another important milestone, the limited ability to sell stock in the company. For the company's first ten years, Looney Labs was a closely held private corporation with exactly two stockholders, Kristin and Andy Looney. After the recent conversion of many of the companies debt holders to stockholders, the company is still a closely held private company, now with all of the employees and a dozen or so friends and family also as stockholders. It's a wonderful thing.

The company has many plans for 2008 and beyond... if new investor capital is raised it will help fund these plans and help the company accelerate its growth. We have several products which are out of print (Nanofictionary, Aquarius, and EcoFluxx) because we are saving our cash to make sure our best selling and heavily marketed products (Fluxx, Zombie Fluxx, and Treehouse) do not run out, and our marketing plans for Treehouse and our planned website/fanclub redesign for this year would both benefit greatly by a bit more funding. If you have ever thought about loaning Looney Labs some cash, now would be a great time!
