Eeyore
has been playing Icehouse
games for almost as much time
as the Looneys have been producing
them. He bought his
first Icehouse set (one of the "First
100" boxed
sets) in January of 1990. Since then, he's been a fervent Icehouse
fan and promoter. He founded the first Internet Icehouse mailing list in 1992,
and helped create (along with
Dale Newfield)
the first
Icehouse web page in 1995. He's run Icehouse demos and parties
at conventions, made his own Icehouse
pieces from wood
and brass,
designed
and built
innovative
"stash
boxes", assembled Icehouse shrines
in his home, written articles
on Icehouse theory, converted the Icehouse
Rules to PalmOS
DOC format,
spray painted four stashes of giant Icehouse pyramids (which he can usually be conviced to bring somewhere or lend out),
and once quipped he would buy Icehouse
Soap if they started making it (Kristin
sent him some -- free!). He even built
the signpost
that Looney Labs uses
in its booth at conventions
and exhibitions.
Eeyore has competed in the International
Icehouse Tournament twelve times
(1993,
1995,
1996,
1998,
1999,
2000,
2001,
2002,
2003,
2004,2005, and 2006)and has won three times (in 1995,
1998,
and 2000).
He was also voted Cooler
Than Ice after the Tenth/Anniversary
IIT tournament. Currently, Eeyore curates the Icehouse
Signatorium, and continues to amass the world's largest collection
of Icehouse memorabilia. |
