I discovered Fluxx and Looney Labs through one of the first fiends- um, friends I made upon moving to Georgia from the Washington DC area. After discovering the other Looney Labs offerings by completing the little experiment at Dragon*Con 04, I was hooked for good. (I find it ironic that I had to move 750 miles away from the very center of Looney Labs activity in order to discover it.) Random Interjection: I NOW HAVE 6 STASHES OF GIANT ICEHOUSE PIECES! I enjoy playing regular ice towers too but it's just not the same. We still need to paint the last two stashes so we can play Giant Volcano. When I'm not geeking out on science fiction, fantasy and gaming, I'm geeking out on music, teaching and cycling. I play electric bass, double bass and I sing. I can be found doing freelance jazz gigs about the Atlanta metro area and even the odd rock/pop gig. I'm currently in the midst of recording an album of jazz-influenced pop/rock songs, just to have a document of the music that's been leaking out of my head lately. Additionally, I teach music privately out of my home and substitute teach for the local public schools. I used to want to save the music industry from itself, but I've gotten a bit cynical since college graduation. Now I just want to make sounds that please me. I couldn't care less what the rest of the world thinks of them.
Lastly, I ride my bicycle EVERYWHERE. To work, to the grocery store, to the park and to the coffee shop for gaming. I even dragged all my games (yes, including the giant 'mids...) to DragonCon this year with a bike trailer. I only use my car for super long distances or when I need to carry something that won't fit in my messenger bag or trailer. (A double bass and amplifier, for instance.) Great exercise, great fun, less gas money, less environmental impact. If only the other bike punks realized what hippies they really were... I live in a house with my lovely fiancée Sharon and our bestest pal Molly. That's right, three Mad Lab Rabbits under one roof. "We are all mad here." |
