Fluxx Buxx Contest - Official Rules

LIMITATIONS ON ELIGIBILITY/AVAILABILITY OF CONTEST. The Contest is void where prohibited by applicable law. The Contest and the offer to participate therein is made only within the United States and Canada and only to legal residents thereof and is governed by the applicable laws of the State of Maryland. [We love our UK and other international Rabbits, but we just can't deal with the fact checking in other countries right now.] All prizes won by Minors will be awarded to their parents or legal guardians on their behalf. Winners may be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility as a condition to the delivery of the applicable prize. Employees (and their immediate families or household members) of Looney Labs, Inc. and their affiliates and subsidiaries are not eligible to enter the Contest.

FLUXX BUXX CONTEST

HOW TO ENTER. No purchase is necessary to participate in the Fluxx Buxx Contest. To enter, you must fill out and mail the Official Record Keeping Form to: Looney Labs, PO Box 761, College Park, MD 20741, Attn: Fluxx Buxx Contest. If you play less than 10 Fluxx games and still wish to enter to qualify for the Registered Mad Lab Rabbit Entry Prizes and/or Random Drawing Prizes, you must submit the Official Record Keeping Form with the appropriate data, as instructed.

The Contest will begin 9/01/2005 and end on 9/30/2005. Entries must be postmarked no later than 10/06/2005. The Contest entries bearing date stamp or postmark after such date will not be eligible to participate in the contest. No copies, facsimiles or mechanical reproductions of entries will be accepted. By participating, all entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules.

PRIZES. Entries and prizes are nontransferable. All prizes will be awarded. No substitutions (including for cash) are permitted, except that the Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater monetary value for any prize. All prizes won by Minors will be awarded to their parents or legal guardians on their behalf. Winners shall be responsible and liable for all municipal, federal, state and local taxes on the value of their prize. 1ST-PLACE PRIZE. One (1) entrant will be awarded a check for $500.00 (US funds), and an EcoFluxx deck

2ND-PLACE PRIZE. One (1) entrant will be awarded a check for $250.00 (US funds), and an EcoFluxx deck

3RD-PLACE PRIZE. One (1) entrant will be awarded a check for $100.00 (US funds), and an EcoFluxx deck

4TH-10TH-PLACE PRIZE. Seven (7) entrants will each be awarded one (1) EcoFluxx deck.

RANDOM DRAWING PRIZES. Ten (10) entrants will randomly be awarded one (1) EcoFluxx deck.

REGISTERED MAD LAB RABBIT ENTRY PRIZES. All entrants who are registered for a Mad Lab Rabbit account (Blab Rabbit or Demo Rabbit) on http://madlabrabbits.com/ by 10/15/2005 will each be awarded 5 Rabbit Points.

WINNER SELECTION/JUDGING CRITERIA. THIS IS A CONTEST OF SKILL. WINNERS WILL BE SELECTED ON AN OBJECTIVE BASIS. ODDS OF WINNING ANY PRIZE DEPEND ON THE SKILL OF THE ENTRANTS, STATUS OF THE ENTRANTS (REGULAR ENTRANT OR MAD LAB RABBIT), AND THE NUMBER OF ENTRIES RECEIVED. Selection will take place within 15 days after the Contest entry deadline listed above. The number of eligible entries received determines the odds of winning. All judging will be conducted under the supervision of Looney Labs. The decisions of Looney Labs are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest. In the unlikely event of a tie, the player whose entry form has the earliest postmark date will win the higher ranking prize.

The winners will be notified by telephone and/or email; Looney Labs reserves the right to determine the method of notification. Winners must claim their prize within three (3) business days after the date of notification of such prize. A Contest winner's failure to respond to the prize notification within the specified three (3) business days will be considered such Contest winner's forfeiture of the prize and an alternate winner may be selected from the pool of eligible entries. If an entrant is found to be ineligible, an alternate winner may also be selected from the pool of eligible entries.

There is a limit of one entry per person. Duplicate entries will be void. All entrants agree to abide by these Official Contest Rules. All entries become the property of Looney Labs and will not be returned. All entrants agree to transfer all right, title and interest to Looney Labs without further remuneration obligation. All entry forms and the players' contact information contained therein will be kept private and secure until the entries are destroyed, no later than 11/15/2005. Specific personal information about other people submitted by entrants will be used only for verification of competition data, and no copies of this information will be retained after the destruction of the entry forms. Any demographic information voluntarily provided by players will be be retained as an aggregate, with no link to actual individual participants.

MOST FAMOUS OPPONENT CONTEST

This portion of the contest has been discontinued (August 26, 2005). We determined it was impractical due to logistics of product endorsement issues and ease of photo fakery.

GENERAL CONDITIONS AND RELEASES

An entrant or winner may be disqualified from the Contest if he or she fails to comply with each provision of these official rules, as determined in the discretion of Looney Labs.

Looney Labs shall not be liable for 1) failed, returned or misdirected notifications based on inaccurate information provided by the winner on the official entry form, 2) entries, and responses to winner notifications which are lost, late, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, postage-due, misdirected, damaged or otherwise not received by the intended recipient in whole or in part or for technical error of any kind, 3) any warranty of fitness or merchantability of any prize or the function or operation thereof, which shall be the sole responsibility of the manufacturer of the prize.

Unless prohibited by applicable law, entry constitutes permission to use an entrant's name, photograph, likeness, voice, address (city, state, and country) and testimonials in all media, in perpetuity, in any manner Looney Labs deem appropriate for publicity purposes without any further compensation to such entrant. By entering or accepting a prize in the Contest, winners agree to be bound by these Official Contest Rules and to conform to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. When applicable, the winner (or, if the winner is a minor, the winner's parent or legal guardian) will be required to execute and return to Looney Labs within five (5) business days an Affidavit of Eligibility and a Liability and Publicity Release to be eligible for the prize or an alternate winner will be selected. Winner may be required to furnish proof of identity, address and birth date in order to receive prize.

By entering, an entrant agrees to release and hold harmless Looney Labs and their subsidiary and affiliated entities, directors, officers, employees, attorneys, agents, and representatives from any damage, injury, death, loss, claim, action, demand, or other liability (collectively Claims) that may arise from their acceptance, possession and/or use of any prize or their participation in this promotion, or from any misuse or malfunction of any prize awarded, regardless of whether such Claims, or knowledge of the facts constituting such Claims, exist at the time of entry or arise at any time thereafter. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with this Contest will be ineligible for prizes and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Looney Labs reserves the right to modify the rules of the Contest in any way or at any time. Looney Labs reserve the right, in their discretion, to cancel or suspend this Contest should causes beyond their control corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the Contest. This Contest shall be governed by Maryland law. By participating in this contest, entrants agree that Maryland courts shall have jurisdiction over any dispute or litigation arising from or relating to this Contest and that venue shall be only in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
