National Standards:
Correlation with Treehouse
|
| Student Behavior

Standard Text

Standard
|
| In Treehouse, students must evaluate the die roll and choose between various possible transformations in the pieces placement and orientation to bring themselves closer to the goal. Such transformations can be a simple as a linear displacement of a piece or as complicated as a complete rearrangement of the pieces. |
Apply transformations and use symmetry to analyze mathematical situations. Develop and evaluate inferences and predictions that are based on data.
|
Data Analysis and Probability |
In Treehouse, students must move playing pieces (pyramids) in repsonse to a die roll to various spots on the playing surface. That playing surface is a two dimensional field with length and height, but no depth. These moves can be described as being along a line of infinite length - since gaps form and close as needed. |
Specify locations and describe spatial relationships using coordinate geometry and other representational systems. |
Geometry |
In Treehouse, students must analyze the current game environment including their own and their opponents' pieces and try to decide what strategy would be the best for their win. |
Problem Solving: Apply and adapt a variety of appropriate strategies to solve problems. |

I need your help. What other standards does Treehouse meet? What are your state standards? Are there links that we can add to this page to make it more useful to teachers? What other information is needed? Please help me build the pages like this for all our games by sending your ideas to edu-support (-at) looneylabs.com. Thank you!
